Readaria
Save an article when you find it. Read it here later, whole, offline, in a typeface made for reading.
For the Mac, macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon. A small group is reading with it first; to join them, write to matt@paymentsculture.com.
Readaria is a place to read. The Safari button saves the page you are on, whole, as you see it, paywall and all, and a few seconds later it is in your list with its pictures. The words come without the menus, the banners and the pop-ups, set in Literata, scrolled or turned like a book. A voice of its own reads articles aloud, on your Mac, without a connection. Everything stays in your iCloud, so it is on your iPad too, and nothing needs an account.
Saving
A button in Safari, and in Chrome, Firefox and Zen. A link pasted with ⌘N. A PDF dropped on the list. Newsletters you follow arrive by themselves.
Reading
Text size, page or scroll, paper or open look, light or dark. Highlights gathered in one place and exported as Markdown. Search across everything you have saved.
Listening
Readaria's own voice reads any article, offline, and keeps the sound beside the article so it plays at once next time. A queue plays them one after another, with the controls on your lock screen.
